The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said
«ِ إِنِّی تَارِک فِیکمُ الثَّقَلَینِ مَا إِنْ تَمَسَّکتُمْ بِهِمَا لَنْ تَضِلُّوا کتَابَ اللَّهِ وَ عِتْرَتِی أَهْلَ بَیتِی وَ إِنَّهُمَا لَنْ یفْتَرِقَا حَتَّى یرِدَا عَلَی الْحَوْضَ فَانْظُرُوا کیفَ تَخْلُفُونِّی فِیهِمَا أَلَا هذا عَذْبٌ فُراتٌ فَاشْرَبُوا وَ هذا مِلْحٌ أُجاجٌ فَاجْتَنِبُوا »
Indeed, I am leaving two heavy and expensive things among you, so that if you hold on to them, you will never go astray after me: The Book of God and my Ahl al-Bayt, and these two should not be separated from each other so that they enter on me in the pool of Kusar. So see how you will deal with those two after me,Be aware that treating my family well is like pleasant and sweet water, so drink it, and treating my family badly is like salty and bitter water, so avoid it.
